I was fortunate to be able to run up until the day before going to the hospital to have both of my sons. While running during pregnancy wasn’t always easy, I was glad to be able to run over 900 miles during both pregnancies and run a few races along the way. After my first son, Cullen, I was able to run faster after pregnancy and set a new PR at every distance. After having my second son, Bjorn, I went on to set some new PRs as well!
I do feel very privileged to be able to run as well postpartum (both times) as I did, and I never take that for granted. I worked really hard to establish a routine and figure out a time I could run that would allow me to pursue my dreams and goals. Craig has always been really supportive of that, and I couldn’t do what I do without his support and his willingness to watch the boys when I’m out training (which is often in the morning while everyone is still sleeping).
I’ve divided this page into my first and second pregnancy with updates along the way.
