My 2025 Racing Schedule

I am so excited for racing this year!

More excited than usual because I have been able to get really fit over the past year, and I feel like I am going to be able to set some new PRs this year! I am also excited because I feel like I am figuring out the race scene here in Minnesota, and it has been fun to connect with other runners in the area.

I am running everything from the mile to the marathon this year. My schedule is actually very similar to last year, which does bring some consistency and predictability to my life. I like trying new races, but I also like to know what to expect on race day: where to park, where the start and finish are, what the competition will be like, knowing what to expect from the course, etc.

Most of my races are in Minnesota for ease of travel. Although, my first marathon is in New York next month, but that’s the only race out of state that I have on the schedule so far. We will be traveling to Duluth for Grandma’s Marathon weekend, and I’ve already gotten confirmation that I will be in the elite wave for the half marathon again, which is so cool!

I may add a race or two later on, but this is pretty much my race schedule for the year.

2025 Race Schedule
March 29 – McKirdy Micro Marathon – New York
May 26 – Brian Kraft 5K – Minneapolis, MN
June 21 – Garry Bjorklund Half Marathon (aka – Grandma’s Half) – Duluth, MN
July 4 – Freedom Run 5 Mile – Waseca, MN
July 20 – Raspberry Run 1 Mile – Hopkins, MN
August X – Tracksmith 5000 – St. Paul, MN
September 7 – City of Lakes Half – Minneapolis, MN
October 5 – Twin Cities 10 Mile – Minneapolis, MN
October X – Victory 10K – Minneapolis, MN

My plan is to do a marathon at the beginning of 2026. Last year when I ran the Indy Marathon in November, I didn’t have much time to train after the 10 mile race at the beginning of October. So this year, I want to use the stretch that out and use the several months after the 10 Mile to focus on marathon training. If everything goes as planned, I would like to do the Houston Marathon in January 2026.

So keep following along because I will be posting training update and race recaps along the way!

Hi, I'm Michelle

I love running around the lakes of Minnesota, running after my two boys, and racing anything from the 5K to the marathon. I have been blogging here since 2010 when I ran my first marathon. I finally secured my sub-3 hour marathon after trying for 8 years.
