I am rounding up 5 more things I was influenced to buy and whether or not they were worth it. In my first blog post on this topic, I talked about whether I thought the T3 curling iron, Gimme hair ties, Loving Tan self-tanner, Billie Razor, and Momentous protein powder were worth it in my mind. I realize that some people will love a product while others will hate it, so I try to point out the pros and cons so that you can decide for yourself if it is worth it.
This time I am talking about the best smelling laundry detergent, an Amazon dress I got many compliments on, and an energy bar that I will buy again.
Glamorous Wash Laundry Detergent
If you want your clothes to smell incredibly good after washing them, use this Glamorous Wash detergent! I was influenced to buy this after a fashion blogger raved about it, and I have repurchased it several times now. It is not cheap, and I’m sure it is not clean at all, but the smell cannot be beat. I often use it on my workout clothes, and I’ve had friends comment about my ‘good smell’ while running. Ha! I also sold an item on Poshmark, and the person who purchased the item from me contacted me to ask me what detergent I had washed the shirt in because it smelled so good! I use it on my running clothes as well as our sheets, and I love it.
Red Aspen Nail Dashes
Oh boy did I want to like these Nail Dashes by Red Aspen, but I had issues. I initially saw a fashion blogger talk about these time and time again, and I loved the combination of patterns she chose, so I finally purchased them myself. I purchased this leopard print + tan color + light pink color. I closely followed all of the instructions the three times I used these, but without fail 2-3 would fall on within a few days of gluing them on even though they are supposed to last at least a week. I had some stay on a long time, but inevitably I would be trying to re-glue one on most days, which was annoying. Plus, you can’t use all the strength of your nail for certain tasks, which can make daily things tricky. Once they were on, I thought they looked amazing–very natural, and they fit my nail like a glove. I did like that each box contains enough to do your nails at least twice, and the price point is reasonable, so I felt like I got my money’s worth.
Amazon dress
Ordering clothes off Amazon is SO tricky! I’ve had so many items that are not that great in person: fit weird, terrible material, look way different than they did online, or poor quality. However, this dress is so good! I’ve worn it handful of times to church, and every time I do I get so many compliments on it. There is a liner in it, so it isn’t see through, and the length is perfect–falling right above my knees. This would be so pretty for a wedding or date night, and I love that there are a ton of colors to choose from.
Modere Liquid Collagen
This liquid collagen by Modere was another item that I wanted to like so much, but I just didn’t notice any difference. I photographed my hairline because I was hoping (expecting) to see new hair growth like the influencer had after a couple months of use. I tried this for 4 months in a row, but I honestly did not notice any difference in my hair, my running, or how my body felt. I always hope for a noticeable change when I take supplements, but I rarely do. (The only one I cannot run without is my iron.) I’m half tempted to try a different formula because I’ve heard great things about the other ones, but I’m thinking I will be let down again. Also, this stuff is not cheap, and with no results for $75 a month, no thanks.
Verb Bars
I feel like these Verb Energy Bars are very last year, but I did want to include them in case anyone was thinking about buying them. While these tasted pretty decent, the fact that there are only 90 calories in each bar did nothing for my appetite as a long distance runner. However, if you don’t need a large snack to hold you over to the next meal and want a bit of a caffeine pick-me-up, then these would be perfect for you.
I hope that is helpful and it gives you a better idea of some items that are floating around the influencer interwebs. It’s crazy how advertising has changed within the last few years, and I don’t foresee things changing any time soon with the importance of influencers for companies to partner with.
