Happy Friday!
The sun is shining, the birds are chirping, and the roads are clear, which makes me one happy runner! I have waited six months for these conditions, so to say I’m elated they are finally here is an understatement.
I just finished up an easy 7.5 mile run this morning, which went really well. All my fitness from the winter seems to have carried over quite nicely as the goal paces for workouts have come relatively easy. The one thing I’m not sure that transferred was my speed, but we’ll be testing that out tomorrow on the track. I am excited to see where this all takes me this spring, summer, and fall.
I have rounded up some of my favorites for this Friday–everything from a new pair of running tights I am loving, a phone case I can’t live without, a delicious recipe that we recently made, and a couple of causal sweatshirts I’ve been living in.
Swift Speed Running Tights
These new lululemon running tights are so, so, so good. I may have wore them three days in a row one week because they are that amazing. The waistband is high rise and very comfortable, the material has more of a compression-feel without being restricting, there are multiple pockets in the tights, and they do not budge at all when I’m running. Now I want them in the 7/8th length now too.
Oiselle Flow Long Sleeve
I just got this long sleeve in the mail last weekend and immediately wore it for a workout the next day, and it was perfect for the cool spring temps. The best part of this Flow Long Sleeve Shirt–is the watch window! Genius! It is made of a very thin, lightweight material that is perfect for the temps in the 40s. The white is sheer, but there are other colors too!
New Balance Beacon
I bought these New Balance Beacons last year, and I am still obsessed with them. I am very picky when it comes to my running shoes, but I love them so much I plan to buy a second pair, which is very rare for me. They are really lightweight but still very cushioned–but not so much cushion your foot sinks into the foam and doesn’t have responsiveness back. I love the fit of them, the heel cup, and the wider toebox. There are a few on sale through Amazon with a limited selection of sizes, or you can find the latest version on New Balance’s website here.
Skida Headbands
These Skida headbands are the one article of clothing that I get asked the most about. I won’t admit to how many I have, but I definitely can match any outfit I choose to wear. They have fleece-lined and non-fleece-lined options, which are perfect for spring/fall running. I love that they stay put when I’m running, and I love all the beautiful fabrics they use.
Beautycounter Dew Skin Tinted Moisturizer
I like to switch up some of my makeup products for the spring and summer months, and this Dew Skin Tinted Moistuzer is one product that I use during the warmer months. Now through April 27, you can get 15% off Beautycounter products during the Friends and Family Sale. Beautycounter doesn’t do sales like this very often, so this is good time to stock up on things you need or try Beautycounter for the first time.
Loopy Phone Case
I cannot live without my Loopy Case. There have been too many close calls with almost dropping my phone, but thankfully this phone case was the saving grace. I love that I can carry my phone with one finger (literally) while juggling everything else: multiple bags, water bottle, kids, kids’ supplies, etc. Plus what initially sent me over the edge to try this phone case was that my right-handed pinky finger was always getting sore from holding my phone up, but the Loopy Case eliminates this problem. This is my third Loopy Case, and I am never going back. (I tried, but I immediately missed the Loopy Case.)
Aerie Sweatshirt
I love a good oversized sweatshirt to pair with shorts or a pair of distressed jeans, and this one from Aerie is so good. It is made of a thinner, terry cloth material for spring wear, plus the sleeves are actually long enough for me. I love the brighter color for sunnier days, and today it is on sale for 40% off.
Target Sweatshirt
This is another sweatshirt I have been living in, and for $18 you can’t go wrong. I did size up to a medium for a more oversized fit, but I also have it in the XS and love that one just as much.
Coconut Curry Ramen
Craig and I tag-teamed on this recipe a couple nights ago, and we were blown away by how good this Coconut Curry Ramen was! It was easy to make, came together relatively quickly, and tasted phenomenally!
I hope you have a good weekend! I have a photo shoot this afternoon for a collaboration with a company, and then Saturday and Sunday will be low-key work days, which I don’t mind because I love what I do. But we’ll be sure to throw in some walks outside, family time, and church activities on both Saturday and Sunday.
