This is a Nordstrom-enthusiast’s favorite time of the year. The time where items that normally aren’t on sale are, and where hot items for the fall are temporarily reduced.
In true fashion of the Anniversary Sale, some of the items are already sold out, so do not wait to buy an item if you see something you like! I did my best to make sure everything I linked is still available. Sometimes things get restocked, so be sure to check back frequently too!
Right now those with a Nordstrom credit card and the ‘Insider’ status can make purchases now. Then starting on Wednesday, August 19th, everyone can shop, with prices going back up in September. Even if you don’t have a Nordstrom credit card, you can browse now and put things on your wish list for the time being. And if you want to shop now, you can sign up for the credit card, start shopping right away, and get $60 to use on a purchase, which is a pretty sweet deal.
JEANS
You can’t go wrong with a good pair of jeans, and I’m all for spending a little extra for a good pair of jeans that will last several years. I’ve highlighted jeans from under $50 to those right around $100. I found a lot of dark denim jeans with no distressing as well as some good black jeans for the fall styles.
SWEATERS
Where are my fall-loving people who can’t wait to put on a chunky sweater?!
Who doesn’t love a cozy cardigan or an oversized sweater as we move into the cooler months. Here in Alaska, the mornings are already cool since our sun actually sets at night, so it won’t be long until I’m wearing a sweater and jeans every day.
SHOES
A good bootie is a must-have for your fall wardrobe. I am currently obsessed with pointy-toe booties. I also found one pair of Sorel’s that I have had for years that are practical and cute for winters here in Alaska. (Psst. . .they made my top 10 list at the bottom.) I also included a pair of cozy slippers and Hunter boots that are great for rainy fall days.
COATS/JACKETS
To go along with a good pair of boots for the fall, jackets and coats are also necessary for the transitional weather. As Alaskans, you need several different coat and jacket options. For example, you need a jacket you can adventure in, and then you need a nicer one you can wear to work. You need ones for the 40s and 50s and ones for the 10s and 20s. I used to make fun of my husband for all of his jackets, but I’m slowly starting to rival his inventory.
ATHLETIC GEAR
Sadly, there wasn’t a lot of athletic gear to choose from, but I did find a few pieces that caught my eye. Naturally, there were few items I would have loved to link, but they were sold out already. I did find a couple of good leggings as well as zip-up jackets.
ACCESSORIES
A few good, key accessory pieces can really pull an outfit together. I love a good dainty gold necklace, a pair of sunglasses, and the Tory Burch purse is on my wish list.
Now for the best 10 items of the entire sale. I scoured A LOT of pages online, so I hope you agree with my picks below.
- Sorel Waterproof Wedge Boot (I wear mine all the time!)
- BP. Cardigan (I love the green color.)
- Joe’s Jeans (I have a similar pair and wear them weekly.)
- The North Face Hooded Parka
- Steve Madden Pointed Toe Bootie (I am obsessed with the pointy toe bootie.)
- Quay Sunglasses (So cute!)
- Zella High Waist Leggings (check out the reviews!)
- Free People chunky sweater
- Tory Burch Crossbody Bag (This is on my wish list.)
- Skinny Ankle Black Jeans (under $45)
I will be updating this post as I find new things or things get restocked, so check back in a couple of days and when the sale opens to everyone on Wednesday, August 19th.
