WEARING // sweatshirt | shorts (similar) | sandals
I didn’t get a chance to photograph this outfit while on my trip to Hawaii, but it was one of my favorite outfits I brought along on the trip. It was cool in the mornings and evenings, so I needed a sweatshirt (and often pants), so I was glad I grabbed this cute Hawaii-inspired sweatshirt before I went. I got a lot of compliments on it, and it is currently on sale for $20.
READING // How Bad Do You Want it?
I started reading How Bad Do You Want It? during my trip to Hawaii. It goes into depth of comparing runner’s mental stamina and how it negatively affected their performance and how it also positively affected their performance. I feel like I’m a pretty mentally tough competitor, but I would also love to pick up a few new tips and tricks to maybe get my mind to stay positive during those last 2-3 miles of the marathon. (Ha!)
LISTENING // Julie Hartenbach. . . on Rambling Runner
I started following Julie on Instagram (@hbach22) right before the NYC Marathon, and I was fascinated because she was going for a sub-3 hour marathon as well. Unfortunately things didn’t pan out for her on November 4th, but 10 weeks later she ran a 2:48 at the Houston Marathon. That’s crazy!! Not only did she get her sub-3, but she skipped the 2:50s and nearly ran an Olympic Marathon Trails qualifying time! I thoroughly enjoyed her interview on Rambling Runner, so I’d definitely recommend checking it out.
USING // Tint Skin
I am picky about my foundation. I don’t want a cake-y look to my foundation, but I also need it to even out my skin a little, which is why I like Beautycounter’s Tint Skin. It is nice and lightweight, but it also provides ample coverage. Plus, it stays on all day, and you can’t beat that it is free of 1500 potentially questionable ingredients.
Right now you can get one of my other favorite products from Beautycounter for FREE–the Cleansing Balm–with a $175+ purchase. (Here is aquick review of it I did when I first got the balm.) The Cleansing Balm is valued at $69 and is amazing for removing make-up at the end of the day, providing extra moisture for my dry winter skin, and can be used in a wide variety of other ways.
EATING // Thai Quinoa Salad
On Monday nights I have a few friends over for The Bachelor, and since many of them are my running friends, we end up eating a lot of items from Run Fast Eat Slow or Run Fast Cook Fast Eat Slow cookbooks.
I made the Thai Quinoa Salad from the Run Fast Cook Fast Eat Slow cookbook a couple of weeks ago, and it was a huge hit. I love the combination of flavors, the power-house food quinoa provides for runners, and all the veggies in the dish.
