Wow! Where did the day go?
I have been up since 5 a.m. even though I did not have to work today. (I guess my internal clock is still set for early mornings.) With my new job, I am only working part-time, which I am absolutely loving! I feel so much more balanced, and I don’t feel like I have to cram 29 hours of things into a 24 hour day.
First thing on the agenda today: a 5 mile run.
Brrr!! It was cold out there this morning. The temperature had to of been around 20*F. I can’t believe how chilly it has been in the mornings. Is it always this cold during this time of the year?
The run went pretty well. I think the cold temps caused me to run a little faster because I was trying to stay warm. I sure did enjoy running during the sunrise today.
One of the perks of working for a running store is being able to try out the products so we are better able to help our customers. This is the Garmin Forerunner 220 and one of our more popular GPS models in the store. It is definitely very easy to operate and has a ton of features to assist your training. I love that it would vibrate to alert me of my mile splits and when I started and stopped the watch.
After my run, I quickly made a fruit smoothie and Craig and I then headed to the coffee shop for our weekly coffee date. Instead of coffee, I got a mixed berry scone.
I always look forward to our coffee dates each week. It gives us a chance to sit down without any distractions and simply hang out and talk.
After our coffee date, I went to the gym to lift weights for 30 minutes. I did a few lifts for all the major muscle groups: arms, abs, and legs (including these two lifts for my glutes in order to keep them healthy).
When I got back, I took Sadie for a nice long walk around the neighborhood. We walked for nearly an hour. She enjoyed sniffing every tree and object that had been peed on by another dog.
For lunch I met up with two friends downtown at Brown Bag Sandwich Co. I have been to Brown Bag a handful of times and they never disappoint. It is a great to grab a quick bite to eat for lunch. Despite the noon hour rush, we had our food relatively quickly. Everything was fresh and tasted great.
During the afternoon I ran a whole bunch of errands: grocery store, Lululemon to check out what’s new (I didn’t see much, but then again we just have a showroom so they don’t have everything.), Costco, and Gap. I did find this cute Rugby Mini Skirt in the mint and navy stripe for spring/summer that was 40% off at Gap. It was still $30, but I really liked it and could see myself wearing it several times. (Now I just need some warmer weather.)
This evening I did all sorts of random things around the house: caught up on computer work, cleaned the kitchen, picked up dog poop in the backyard (that is the worst this time of the year!), and wishing I had had time to complete a couple of other things from my to do list since we have a full weekend ahead of us. But all-in-all it was a great day.
Hope your weekend is a good one!
Sounds like you had such a nice day. I love coffee dates, nothing better than to talk over coffee. Oh you are so lucky you get to work part time, that would be perfection for me.
So…. Apparently I’ve been goon for way too long. I didn’t know that you got a new job! And at a running store! Omg. That is the dream. I’m going to have to go back and catch up on all that I missed. I work part time too! It’s the best of both worlds.
I just posted about it, so you haven’t missed much yet.
I don’t miss the springtime poop clean-up with all of those ones that were previously hidden in the snow… :). Your skirt is really cute and totally fits your style.
Yeah, do you have any tips for spring poop clean-up? The old stuff is disintegrating and the wet stuff is diarrhea–yuck!
A wonderful article and great … thank you for sharing with us .. ๐
Sounds like all three of you (including Sadie) are having a nice weekend! ๐
