Gorgeous sunrise this morning.
Three-day weekends seriously are the best. The weekend that actually feels like a weekend. Although mine flew by way too fast again.
I ended up running 36 miles this past week. A couple extra miles than I had planned, so I hope my bad doesn’t hate me for it. Here’s a quick recap of my workouts this past week.
Monday
AM – 7.4 miles/1:04
This was an okay run—nothing great, nothing terrible. Tried to do some fartleks but struggled to pick up the pace. Still glad to get out!
PM – 30 minutes weight lifting (legs) at the gym
Tuesday
AM – 4.6 miles/43:16
Tried not to care about my pace—like that could ever really be true though. Pretty slow—0.6 miles with Sadie, the pup.
Wednesday
AM – 30 minutes weights at the gym (arms)
PM – 8 miles/71:00
I ran 4.5 miles to and from the gym. While at the gym, I ran on the treadmill for 0.5 mile warm-up and then completed a 3 mile tempo run. I started out at 7:47 minutes/mile pace and then increased the speed by 0.1 mile per hour every half mile ending at a pace of 7:14. It was a really good workout, and I didn’t get bored, which is always a plus.
Thursday
AM – off
PM – 30 minutes weights at the gym
Friday
AM – 3.5 mile run/32:13
Okay run – 1 mile with Sadie, which was very slow. (Craig had taken her out the night before, so I think she was tired!)
PM – 1.5 mile run + 60 minute bootcamp at the gym
Saturday
11 miles
AM – 5.5 miles/57:01
PM – 5.5 miles/47:00
I didn’t want to split this run up, but the ice made it far too difficult to run, so I finished up the run at the gym that evening. Overall I felt fine—no hamstring pain or other problems.
Sunday
OFF – Nice to have a day off; although a yoga class would have been nice if I would have had the time.
Total: 36 miles
I made this very delicious smoothie from The Green Smoothie Bible that Craig gave me for Christmas. We have tried a couple of other smoothies and all have been very good so far. This one included:
1 cup pineapple
1 banana
1.5 cups water
cilantro
ice
I never would have thought of putting cilantro in a smoothie, but it was really good. I would definitely make this again.
The cilantro does sound good! I didn’t think about that either. Nice job on the 30+ miles last week. I hit 30+ for the first time in quite some time after recovering from an injury and it felt amazing. Very excited and motivating! Good luck this week!
Awesome runs last week! And I may add cilantro now to this one avocado-spinach smoothie recipe I have after seeing yours.
Awesome job on those miles girl! I do love me a green smoothie 🙂
