Short & Sweet

This is going to be a short and sweet post because:

a.) I don’t have much to say,

b.) I didn’t take many pictures, and

c.) I didn’t really do anything very exciting today. 🙁

I did spend some time in the kitchen making these Loaded Oatmeal Cookies (which are amazing!) and Trail Mix Granola Bars (which are also a favorite of mine!) this morning though.

Workout

Distance: 5 miles

Time: 42 minutes

Cliff notes summary: tough!

I really struggled through this run. I woke up hungry and was running on ‘E’ the whole time. Not good!

I didn’t have time to eat before running because Craig and I had a coffee date! 🙂

My much-needed breakfast:

decaf drip coffee + bagel with peanut butter + banana

Afterward, Craig went to work, and I biked back home. I love going fast on my road bike!

I tried a couple new products today:

Teriyaki-flavored Tofu

I have been eyeing this flavored tofu for quite some time at the grocery store, but I just couldn’t fork over almost $5 for it. However, this packed was reduced because it expires tomorrow!

I had half of it tonight and loved the teriyaki flavor of this tofu. Definitely a winner!

I also tried this Stonyfield Greek Yogurt today. I had a coupon but still thought it was kind of expensive.

Unfortunately, I was not impressed with this yogurt. The vanilla flavor wasn’t that great and it wasn’t as thick as most other Greek yogurts I’ve had.

Tonight I met my friend Jen at my favorite dessert shop in town: Sugarspoon.

I already had dessert today, (When I was baking the cookies, I couldn’t resist sampling a couple of them. 😉 ) so I just had a cup of herbal tea. Plus it warmed up on this cold, rainy, windy day. (For those of you who are tired of all your heat, you can always find relief in Alaska! It was in the 50s today.)

Well, that’s all I’ve got for today. Time to hit the hay!

Hi, I'm Michelle

I love running around the lakes of Minnesota, running after my two boys, and racing anything from the 5K to the marathon. I have been blogging here since 2010 when I ran my first marathon. I finally secured my sub-3 hour marathon after trying for 8 years.

I agree with your opinion of Stonyfield’s nonfat Greek yogurt. Of all the several kinds of nonfat Greek yogurt I have tried (Fage, Brown Cow, Chobani, Dannon) it is my least favorite. The consistency is watery compared to the others. I did try the mini cups that came with caramel or chocolate you could stir in, which improved it a little bit, but still not my favorite.
