WEEEE!!! I was flying this morning!!!
I FINALLY pulled out my road bike from storage today!! I purchased this bike at the end of the season last year and only rode a handful of times last fall before the snow flew. It was so nice to be able to finally get it out and ride again! 🙂
Here’s how my morning went down:
5:30 a.m. Wake up and realized I’m not that tired, so I decide to get up—even though my alarm was set for 6 a.m.
– Turn my computer on.
– Put dishes away.
– Check my e-mail, Facebook, and read a few blogs on Google reader.
– Go to the bathroom and brush my teeth.
– Change into my running clothes.
6:20 a.m. Run 5 miles. (I am glad this is a taper week, otherwise I would be dragging!)
7:10 a.m. Return from my run and get my things together for our coffee date!
7:40 a.m. Leave for Kaladi Brothers.
Enjoy a coffee date with my husband who kind of woke up on the wrong side of the bed. Although, I think our coffee date cured that. 🙂
Enjoy a delicious breakfast.
Overnight Oats Quinoa
Overnight Quinoa
1/4 cup quiona
1/8 cup Greek yogurt
1/8 cup milk (maybe a little more)
1 teaspoon chia seeds
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon honey
1/2 banana (I saved a few slices for garnish on top.)
Toppings: strawberry slices, walnuts, unsweetened coconut
(Don’t quote me on these measurements. I actually didn’t measure anything, so I am just guessing.)
The quinoa was a nice change from the oats. The oats can get kind of chewy, but the quinoa (since it was already cooked) was smooth and creamy. The taste of the quiona was a little odd, but the banana, vanilla, and honey did help improve the flavor.
Enjoyed with a Yogurtland spoon. (Hey, I’m not the only one who saves these spoons.)
8:20 a.m. Leave the coffee shop and bike home.
8:45 a.m. Arrive at home.

Oh, by the way, it is 50* here this morning, which means it is HALF the temperature it is for those of you on the East Coast—craziness!!!
I’ll trade you temps! I think I need to invest in a road bike. Yours is really spiffy-looking!
Seeing you wearing a jacket makes me cringe! It’s sooooo hot here! I’ve been eating lots of ice cream and becoming good friends with bags of frozen peas.
Seeing people wear tank tops and shorts makes ME cringe!!
Fun post! I liked your little schedule of events – it made me feel like I spent the day with you!
At least you’re missing out on the MN weather.. It was 104 on Tuesday and 60s today.. Craziness!!
That is crazy!
That’s one awesome bike!
I cracked up, as I save those crazy spoons as well!
