Last night Craig and I celebrated the end of the school year at Simon & Seaforts—an upscale restaurant in downtown Anchorage, overlooking the Cook Inlet.
We have been to Simon & Seaforts before but don’t go often because it is quite expensive.
We went because I heard they offer half-price appetizers during happy hour, but only to find out those specials only apply to the saloon side, and we sat on the restaurant side. I was bummed out, but there was nothing I could do about it at that point in time.
Our server got us started with sourdough bread and whipped butter.
Craig’s mojito
How I feel now that school is done! 😀
(Ignore the creepiness of my neck.)
How Craig feels now that I am done with school!
A happy Michelle = a happy Craig 🙂
For some reason soups and salads really call my name when I dine at restaurants. Call me crazy or call me cheap (which is possibly true), but it satisfies my cravings.
Spinach salad with bacon pieces, hard-boiled egg, red onion, and sliced almonds.
And a bowl of chili. They were both good—nothing extra special—but I enjoyed them.
Craig’s entree: pan-seared halibut cheeks. It was absolutely amazing!!
Now for a creepy face . . . .
and serious pose (a.k.a. standard high school senior pose).

This morning was a “short” long run: 13 miles.
I almost always run by myself, but running with friends is so much fun!
My friend Jen has been my running buddy for the 18 and 20 mile runs I have done over the last couple of weeks. (My friend Lindsey also ran with us.)
Notables about our run:
– A bald eagle was spotted.
– Two army soldiers “saved” our lives by preventing us from venturing onto a military firing range.
– Bear scat may or may not have been sighted!
– An employee of the golf course kicked us off the golf course. (Actually she was very nice about it.)
– I found a U.S. Department of the Air Force magnetic decal for a vehicle lying along the roadside.
– Pretty views of the mountains were enjoyed.
Post-run face that matches my shirt–gah!
I hope your weekend is going well!
I am off to a yoga class hoping to get some serious leg stretching in!
Looks like such a pretty run for sight seeing.
Mmm that is a crazy amount of things to happen while you run! That sounded like fun. Thanks for going to yoga with me!
You’re welcome!
just discovered your blog which motivates me to do more running ( : happy summerbreak for you!
Craig looks really healthy! Good work Craig . . . and good work Michelle. 🙂
Thanks for noticing. Craig lost about 40 lbs. last summer. He feels so much better. 🙂
Love the faces! Reminds me of when my friends and I would go out, we’d make up a scenario, then take photos reacting to said scenario. When you mix that with a bit of alcohol, it makes for some really ridiculous pics. 🙂
That seems like such an adventurous run. HA-I laughed so much about the military men saving your life.
Your food looks good but I love the photos of you and the man more. 😉
what a crazy run! how fun 🙂
