I heart sushi!
And when Craig and I want sushi in Anchorage, there’s only one place we go: Dish!
As much as I love sushi, I cannot believe I have not been to the Dish since I’ve been blogging!! That’s more than 8 months! Thankfully this was remedied Saturday night.
We have gone to other sushi restaurants, but when we want a classy, modern sushi joint, Dish is our restaurant of choice. (This picture doesn’t do justice.)
The menu is HUGE! The other side is filled with roll as well!
We got started with some miso soup and a salad. (Sorry for all the blurry pictures.)
Our appetizer: Hijiki (seaweed).
This was our first time ordering this appetizer, but we both really liked it. The seaweed was light and refreshing and not fishy tasting at all.
Now on to the main course. . . .
My sushi roll: Sweet Shorty RollMy roll was super delicious! I loved all the different flavors in this roll!!
Craig’s HUGE bowl of soup: Cham-Pong
And we can’t forget about dessert: Banana Spring Rolls
Super delicious with ginger-flavored ice cream and whipped topping in the middle!!

Prior to enjoy sushi, we went to my favorite yoga studio in Anchorage: Anchorage Yoga.
This was Craig’s first time going, and I was super happy to have him join me!
We went to a Hot Flow Fushion class . . . for real this time. The last time I went to yoga, I thought I was going to a Hot Flow Fusion class, but I had looked at my schedule incorrectly and it turned out it was a Bikram class. I was told that Bikram is the type of class you might not like at first, which is true for me. I’m not sure how much I like it. Has anyone else experienced this?
We had an awesome night and the perfect date night! 🙂
you are my sweet sushi roll
Oh my goodness, I want to fly to Alaska and eat there with you 🙂
How about I come there to visit?!?!
Oh my gosh you are making me want sushi soooo bad! Sushi is my #1 favorite food! I have never seen that type of seaweed before. I’m not going to lie, it looks a little scary. I am right with you on the Bikram thing. I LOVE yoga (heck I teach it 3+ times a week) but I just can’t get into Bikram. I think it’s the bright lights, smelly room, no music, same routine each time, and the harsher tone of the instructor that does me in.
I agree the seaweed looks scary, but it had a pretty mild flavor that wasn’t fishy at all! Are all Bikram classes taught with bright lights on and no music because I want to say I went to a Bikram class where there was music and dim lighting?!?!
I’ve never had sushi before, maybe one of these days you can help break me in 🙂 I will be honest though, it really doesn’t look that good to me. Maybe it is one of those ‘you gotta taste it’ things?
I didn’t really like sushi the first time I tried it, but now I love it!! Maybe the next time we hang out, we can go for sushi!! 😉
Yes!!! That would be awesome!
