Yahoo! A 3-day weekend is in-store for me!! 😀
Oddly enough though, Mondays are often my best day of teaching, so I’m kind of bummed it is the day we have off.
~~~~~~
Breakfast
Prior to my run this morning, I had a bowl of cereal with milk and banana slices.
This is a new cereal I picked up last night. (Yes, my Friday night was spent grocery shopping. Sad, but true.)
I really liked this cereal–kind of like Quaker Oatmeal Squares but mini sized. The blueberry flavoring was delicious and did not taste fake!
Barbara’s website even has a $1 off coupon you can print!
I also had a half a piece of toast with peanut butter and banana slices.
Workout
I wanted to do a longer run today but knew there was no way I could run 10 miles outside (It is 1* outside today!), so I ran 6 miles on the treadmill and then went outside for the last 4. I don’t know which one was worse.
The treadmill was boring; however, watching TV did help. But I also don’t feel like I am “running” when on the treadmill–due to the fact the “ground” is moving and you don’t have to work as hard to propel yourself forward.
And the cold temperature made for a pretty miserable run outside. Seriously! It has been SO COLD this winter. Usually Anchorage averages temperatures in the 20s, but this winter we are more often in the single digits–and teens if we are lucky. Grrr!!!
Time: 51 minutes + 35 minutes = 86 minutes/1:26
Here are some foods I’ve been enjoying these days:
Salads
Big salads topped with whatever I can find in the fridge.
Wraps
spinach + turkey + provolone cheese + tomatoes + yellow pepper + avocado + mayo + mustard
My lunch today + BBQ kettle chips + carrot sticks
Trader Joe’s Dried Mango Slices
My sister sent me these and they are almost gone already. They are literally like candy!
Ice Cream
What else is there to say? I love my sweets!!
Annie’s Bunny Grahams – Honey
These are better than graham crackers–and better for you because of the ingredient’s list.
~~~~~~
Things I’m not really lovin’:
These granola bars–not horrible but nothing great either.
The Temperature
Yesterday morning:
I’m not sure what else is in store for us today! Only time will tell!

Question
What is one food item you have been enjoying lately?
I love salads with a tonne of different toppings, goat cheese being an all time fav!
Yes! Goat cheese makes an excellent topping as well!
Currently loving pumpkin cornbread fresh from the oven! I’ve also been loving Trader Joe’s Almond Butter with Sea Salt, and giant salads with cut up apples and clementines!
i know what you mean. the treadmill never “feels” like running. although for me it always seems tons harder, but i’m not sure why. i’m pretty sure its all in my head…
i’ve been enjoying the frozen fruit that i picked this summer. blueberries, raspberries, and cherries. yum!
I agree the treadmill feels “harder” in the fact my speed has to be a lot slower. Usually my comfortable pace outside is 8:00/8:30 minute-miles, but I have to add about 30 seconds/mile on the treadmill.
I have been such a wimp this winter and kept my workouts to indoor running/training..well I finally ventured out this week and running is SO much better outside..not to mention I can tell it’s a much better workout too! I’m so sore! I figured if you could go out in single digit weather I should be able to handle 29 degrees 🙂
I have been enjoying green monster smoothies! I’ve been trying to make different mixes all week! I love it!
Congrats on making it outside!
I’m so glad you are enjoying green monster smoothies!
Great run!! Glad the tv helped with the boredom a little bit:) THIS POST MADE ME SO HUNGRY!!! Love the salad with everything in the fridge. I am loving wraps big time too! I am going to have to say ice cream is my number one right now though!
Good to know you always bring food with you too ha! Have a great Sunday!
Yum!! Love your blog!! That wrap looks like heaven and I love those little graham bunnies… I will get those for my graham and frosting habit!
🙂 Jenn
i’ve been enjoying honey walnut dip (honey + walnuts + greek yogurt). it’s great on toast or with apple slices or banana slices…there are a ton of possibilities! 🙂
ps not to be creepy but we have the same kind of car as you do… at least the temp/clock/radio display is the same 🙂
Yum! That sounds good. I’m going to have to try that!
I drive a Mazda 3.
I love those salads where you just throw everything in there–I call em Everything but the Kitchen Sink salads…soo good!
