Running Shirts (Short-sleeve)

Before going to bed last night, I made breakfast: overnight oats.

Here’s what they looked like before bed.

In the bowl:

– 4 oz. low-fat raspberry Lucerne yogurt

– 1/4 cup old-fashioned oats

– 1/2 mashed banana

– milk

– chia seeds

– sliced almonds

– sliced frozen strawberries

Can you believe I took this picture at almost 10:00 p.m.?!?! (Well, of course those of who live in Alaska can.)

I used a flavored yogurt instead of plain to add more taste to the overnight oats.

When I was choosing a flavor at the grocery store, I immediately checked the sugar content of the yogurt. Most of them had 32-33 grams of sugar!! That’s way too much–even for my sweet tooth, so I settled on the raspberry which had 25 grams. Better, but still not great.

In the morning, I added fresh nectarine, shredded coconut, and Kashi Heart-to-Heart Cinnamon Oat Cereal.

I am still not sure how I feel about overnight oats. It is really nice that breakfast is already made when I wake up because I usually pretty hungry right away, but it is kind of mushy. So many other bloggers love their overnight oats which makes me think I am doing something wrong. Who knows.

Review: Short-sleeve Running Shirts

I reviewed my running shorts a while back and thought it was only fit to do the same with my short-sleeved running tops.

(Oh, wow, when I just went to create the link above for the review on my running shorts, I had nearly the EXACT same breakfast as I did this morning!!–overnight oats with strawberries and nectarines. Weird!!)

First up . . . .one of my favorites. This Nike top has a great fit. It is not too baggy and has a fitted cut. You can also see that the back is slightly longer which is nice for some gluteus maximus coverage. (We’ve got to be technical here!!)

I am not a fan of this shirt. The length is too short and the sleeves are short and wide. On the plus side, it is made of a nice dry-wicking material.

This top from REI is not quite as fitted at some of my other favorites, but it does have enough length in the torso that I appreciate.

The phrase on the front is cute. However, shouldn’t it be on the back? Just a thought.

Of all of the shirts reviewed here today, this is definitely my favorite!! I love the fit, length, and feel of it. It isn’t too tight nor too baggy and has ample length.

This shirt would be my second favorite. I love the feel of the material and the fit is excellent. The only downside is that it is white.

I wear this top quite often. My only gripe is that the length is on the short side. Other than that, it is a great shirt to run in.

Time to lace up my running shoes and go on my run for the day!

I love overnight oats, but the first time or two I wasn’t too sure. I think I was so used to eating warm oatmeal that I didn’t know what to expect. I loved the shirts review!
