I enjoy trying new foods and telling others what I think about them.
Here are a few food items I’ve tried within the past week.
Amy’s Indian-Mattar Paneer
First off, I rarely buy frozen entrees. They occassionaly make it into the grocery cart if they are on sale, and I need something in a pinch. (I bought this one while I was still teaching to take to school when there wasn’t anything else in the fridge.)
For a frozen entree, this one was pretty decent. I like the variety of peas, garbanzo beans, cheese, and rice–it kept things interesting. The food tasted real and the spices resembled good Indian food.
O.N.E. Coconut Water
I’ve seen quite a few other bloggers sample coconut water, so I thought I’d give it a try myself. It was a nice cool, refreshing drink after my sweaty run the other day–plus it said it was a good source of electrolytes. However, it wasn’t worth the price I paid for it. It wasn’t that spectacular.
Voskos Greek Yogurt (Exotic Fig flavored)
I love Greek yogurt but not the cost of it. I usually make my plain greek yogurt but saw this flavor caught my attention in the grocery store. Well, let’s just say I’ll be sticking to my plain yogurt for now–it was actually quite disgusting. I did not care for the fig flavoring in this yogurt.
Lint Dark Chocolate: A Touch of Sea Salt
Once again I’ve seen this kind of chocolate pop up on some different blogs and wanted to give it a try myself. Dark chocolate is a favorite of mine, however, I will not be purchasing this kind again. I was not a fan of the added sea salt. It added a subtle taste to the chocolate, but I guess I’m just a “plain jane.” Give me plain 70% – 80% dark chocolate instead.
Archer Farms Chai Cookies
These were recommended to me by a friend of mine and she definitely made a good recommendation. These mini cookies melt in your mouth and provide a sweet chai flavor that beckon you to eat more.
The nutrition stats are pretty decent if you stick to the serving size.
I also like that I can pronounce all of the ingredients. I think I should try recreating this recipe at home.
Well, it is time to pack and get ready for our anniversary trip this weekend!! Saturday night we are staying at the Alyeska Hotel in Girdwood, Alaska and then taking a 5-6 hour sea kayaking trip on Sunday out of Whittier in Prince William Sound!! We are both excited!!
Hello,
I had to look to see if you had a good weekend for your Anniversay. Happy Anniversary to both of you. I hope you had a good weekend. In regards to your choices of things I have not tried anything of these specifically, but I’m certain they are more expensive only because they are more organic and healthy. You need to start bombarding Trader Joes to move to Anchorage location so you can get some of their items.
Sue
I would LOVE to get Trader Joe’s here!! I am going to stock up when I go to MN!!
