Sorry for the absence, but my life has been very busy and quite uneventful the past couple of days.
Yes, I’ve been running and eating but haven’t been cooking or making meals that have been that interesting.
I’ve been incredibly busy because tonight Craig and I are flying to California to attend a funeral for a relative of Craig’s that recently passed away.
Getting ready for the trip has meant running a lot of errands, laundry, paying bills, and packing, which always takes longer than it seems it should!
And while I love blogging, I figure it should be the first thing to go–rather than exercising, eating healthy, spending time with my husband, and sleeping. Although some of those things have gone by the wayside a little too.

An update on our diminishing daylight.
4:00 p.m. today
Official sunset time ~ 3:53 p.m.
Yep, that’s right people–before 4:00 p.m.!!
And out official sunrise time ~ 9:45 a.m.
And you thought you had it bad!! The worst part is that we still have 3 weeks of losing even more daylight!

And an hour later, a little before 5 p.m.

Here’s a summary of my workouts the past 3 days.
Monday’s workout
Distance: 7 miles
Time: 62 minutes
Weather: 10 degrees and WINDY!!
Comments: Overall, the run went okay. It was nothing great, but for winter-running, I can’t expect much.
After work, I headed to the gym for a 45 minute weight-lifting session. I know some people don’t like weight lifting, but I find it very enjoyable!
Tuesday’s workout
Distance: 4 miles
Time: 34 minutes
Comments: A relatively short workout, so I guess it wasn’t too bad.
Wednesday’s workout
Distance: 7 miles
Time: 60 minutes
Weather. 3 degrees!! (I was fa-reeezing!!)
Comments: one word: COLD!!! I literally almost froze my butt off today. The skin around my upper thighs, buttocks, wrists, neck, and face were bright red when I got back. It is was painful!
I used to run in temps even colder, but now I am wondering how I ever survived?!?!
~~~~~~~
I really wanted to go to yoga tonight, but I had too much to do before we leave tonight–even though we don’t fly out until 2:30 a.m.!! That’s what happens when you book the cheapest flight.
I’ll do my best to post while in California, but no guarantees. I told Craig I was going to run 10 miles every day to soak up all the warm (relative) weather and dry pavement!!
