I am officially driving to work in the dark!
Here’s what it looked like at 8 a.m. just 2.5 weeks ago.
And this is what it looked like at 8 a.m. this morning.
October 6
Sunrise – 8:19 a.m.
Sunset – 7:17 p.m.
October 25
Sunrise – 9:08 a.m.
Sunset – 6:19 p.m.
That’s nearly TWO hours of daylight we’ve lost in less than 3 weeks!! And we still have almost 2 months until the shortest day!!
Run
I am still some-what sore from the Zombie Half-Marathon on Saturday. My knees were sore yesterday, and I have general soreness throughout my legs, but nothing like the pain after my marathon!
I wanted to run a few miles this morning and then spend quite a bit of time stretching and using my foam roller.
Usually when I start a run, I know exactly how many miles I am going to run, but today I wasn’t quite sure. I ended up running 5 miles. I took it pretty slow and just enjoyed being out on a run.
Breakfast
I had a bulk-sized Adam’s peanut butter container that was nearly empty, so I used it for my overnight oats this morning. (Sorry, no picture.)
I also had a muffin, which I made yesterday, that was calling my name to be sampled! (I will be posting the recipe shortly.) Let me tell you, they did not disappoint–especially the crisp brown sugar topping!
Snack
soynuts + cashews + peanuts + dried cranberries + raisins
Love sweet and salty things!
Lunch
A little of this, and a little of that.
– bread
– carrots
– pear
Tonight we are hitting up the gym for a weight lifting session and then it will probably be a “fend for yourself” dinner.
See ya later!
Everytime you make new muffins they taste better than the last. I was so good after my ride to work.
oh goodness! can’t believe how late your sunrise is. now i won’t be as sad about not being able to run in the AM every day now…
Sheesh that’s a huge difference for only 2 weeks! I love all the pictures from your half marathon, especially the moose! How cool it must be to live in Alaska!
Yeah, it’s “cool” alright here! You’ve gotta love winter to enjoy living here, and I am definitely not a winter person!
I will stop complaining about how dark it is at 7am here in NJ…haha. I would have such a hard time getting up in winter in Alaska, I don’t know how you do it!
I don’t know how I do it either!!
