Never again will I be buying Kellogg’s Raisin Bran. As healthy as I thought Raisin Bran was, I learned my lesson by not reading the nutrition stats and list of ingredients before buying this the other day!
It isn’t that I won’t consume high fructose corn syrup because I honestly believe that in moderation, it is okay. I actually do try to avoid it if possible though. If I am going to buy a product with high fructose corn syrup, I want to know before I actually purchase it. For example, I did buy Gatorade the other week, but I knew it contained high fructose corn syrup before purchasing it, and I was okay with it. Plus the only time I drink Gatorade is after a long run on Saturday or a hard track workout–and not more than 8 oz. at a time!
I did enjoy a piece of 100% whole wheat bread with almond butter and homemade blueberry jam made by my husband! He and three of his guy friends even picked the wild blueberries in the mountains over the weekend! What a little homemaker he has become. Just kidding, he actually is a very manly, mountain-man Alaskan!!
Here are some pictures of Craig cleaning and bagging the blueberries.
I also stopped for a decaf Americano with cream and a little sugar before work this morning. However, I am not sure I they got the decaf part of my order right. I’m feeling a little jittery right now. Grrrrr! (Probably why this picture is out of focus–because I couldn’t hold the camera still!)
Yesterday’s snack was this awesome-tasting Larabar. I’ll be honest in saying I haven’t loved every flavor of Larabar I’ve tried–some of them are just too boring in the taste department, but this bar had a lot more ingredients in it, and there was a little party in my mouth from all of the flavors! Definitely my favorite flavor!
Last night for dinner, my husband continued his husbandly homemaker role by preparing this yummy tuna sandwich for me complete with tomato and spinach. We added dill seasoning to the tuna and what a great flavor enhancer it was!
I also roasted some brussel sprouts seasoned with paprika, garlic powder, salt, pepper, and a light coating of olive oil from our Misto.
Dinner would not be complete without dessert! My favorite part of an ice cream cone is the cone itself, so to help in portion control, I only fill the ice cream level with the top of the cone! This was butter pecan ice cream.
